We think the best overall countertop options are quartz or granite countertops due to their affordability, durability and resistance to scratching, etching, and staining. Marble, quartzite, soapstone are all great countertop options as well, but the cost of these are usually higher and there tends to more care and maintenance needed. Get in touch with us if you have any specific questions.
There is no cleaning product that will apply to all the different countertop materials available except soap and water. There are many natural stone cleaning products out there that do work, but it's a case by case basis. You want a pH neutral cleaner and want to stay away from strong cleaners like bleach. Whatever you clean the countertops with, you'll want to wipe them down immediately afterwards with just water and a towel to get rid of any excess cleaner. Quartz or granite tend to be the least expensive countertop options. There is a big price range in each, but the lower priced options are the best deal of any natural stone or engineered stone options we offer.
